Weekly Reflection (Post 1, Week 1)
Sharing a Pragmatic Networked Model for Open Pedagogy: The Open Hub Model of Knowledge Generation in Higher-Education Environments.

The article by Lee Graham and Verena Roberts captured my interest as it shares many valuable thoughts and facts about modern education. It is vital that educators are staying up to date with education as it changes. In recent years we have seen a large shift from in person to online education. This shift has resulted in educators needing to learn a new set of teaching skills to properly address their students’ learning.

As online and blended education continues to grow, educators should put effort into broadening their knowledge on the field. Online education opens a new field of opportunities for students who may have previously done poorly or not been able to access in person education. Online education is inclusive as it offers students flexible schedules, less costs and a variety of ways to learn. Instructors are able to better tailor online learning to every individual student. Personally, over the last couple of years I have taken multiple online classes. I have found them to work better with my schedule. I’m able to balance my work, extra curriculars and multiple other classes around my online ones. I believe this is a large part of many other students’ lives which is why I see a large value in growing online education.
